HOW TO USE THIS CATALOG This catalog is divided into two sections: subject and author. A table of contents listing topics covered with their respective page numbers precedes the subject section. The author section is arranged alphabetically by the author's last name for each access. An order form is included in this book for individuals currently registered with the Philadelphia Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Additional forms may be requested. When ordering, please list as many titles as possible. We will then add these titles to the reader request list that will enable us to better serve our readers.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS Pennsylvania's two Regional Libraries have over 22,000 large print book titles available for circulation. Pennsylvania residents who have difficulty reading standard printed materials without special aids or devices other than corrective lenses may be eligible. Application forms should be requested from the appropriate Regional Library. Because of the limited number of large print titles in each library, the regional libraries cannot serve institutions (i.e. nursing homes, hospitals, etc.) with large print books. However, individuals who reside in institutions are eligible to receive large print service on an individual basis. Many public libraries in the state have large print books in their collection and can serve as an additional source for these items. The loan period for large print books is one month. Books are sent and returned by mail in special postage-free containers. If you begin to find it difficult to read large print due to failing eyesight, you might wish to join the thousands of other Pennsylvanians who receive recorded books and magazines from their Regional Libraries. For further details, please call your Regional Library about all of the services that they provide.
